As if this battleground weren’t dramatic enough, a new voting rule in Iowa threatens to delay accurate results for up to a week after the election.
The new rule affects absentee ballots, one of the biggest weapons for the democratic party this year.
Essentially the new rule states that all ballots must be postmarked no later than Monday, November 5th in order to be valid. What this means though is that ballots could be coming in up to a week after election day. In a state as heavily contested as Iowa this could cause huge problems.
With any luck, the winner of Iowa will do so by a solid margin, but I smell the beginnings of a narrow margin followed by the recount process, adding to the fun and drama of the election narrative.
