Hedi Heitkamp: North Dakota’s Moderate Candidate

North Dakota hasn’t voted for a Democratic president since man walked on the moon. So why is the Democratic nominee for Senate, Hedi Heitkamp, in one of the costliest senate races in this States recent history?

The Wall Street Journal answered with her relatively moderate approach to win the seat with, “support [of] the Keystone Pipeline, criticize onerous environmental regulations, bad-mouth core planks of the Democrats’ 2010 federal health-care overhaul, and generally put a country mile between herself and President Barack Obama.”

Not only that, but her television ads are clean, focused, and convincing.
