After relentless campaigning from the Democrats and Republicans alike, the results are in, and North Carolina officially went red in 2012.  The state’s voter turn out was 68.34%. Here’s a breakdown of the election results from last night:

President: 

Romney 50.6%

Obama 48.4%

Governor:

Pat McCrory 54.7%

Walter Dalton 43.2%

House:

North Carolina’s 13 districts also went majorly to the Republicans, winning at least 9 of the 13 seats. Some winners in races to watch include:

Richard Hudson (8th District-R)

Mark Meadows (11th District-R)

George Holding (13th District-R)

Supreme Court Justice:

Paul Newby
