Confident or out of touch? That is the question many Americans have been asking themselves after Mitt Romney had to deal with the reality of delivering a concession speech even though he never had one prepared.
As President Barack Obama celebrates his second term in office, the Romney family is mourning the second generation of a failed presidential candidate in the family. Before the polls closed on Tuesday, Romney informed the Washington Post that he just completed a victory speech totaling to around 1,118 words long. Those who witnessed the Romney camp defeat cited Ann Romney as weeping and in complete shock that her husband lost the presidency, just as her father-in-law did over 40 years ago.
In addition to this reality, the Romney campaign prematurely published their victory website (see photo above) with Mitt Romney alongside an American flag flanked with the quote, “I’m excited about our prospects as a nation. My priority is putting people back to work in America.” Romney now has the chance to put people back to work, but from the standpoint of a CEO, not as president.
